2017 Tax Season
Please schedule a time for me to begin work on your 2016 tax return. This is not a live appointment. It’s basically your due date to deliver your tax documents. This is how I set aside time to work on your tax return and spread out my workload, so make sure I have all your tax documents beforehand. See the checklist link below. First come first serve!

Below is everything you need to know about pricing, documents I need from you, how to get a hold of me, etc. If you have any specific questions, feel free to reach out any time. I do my best to get back to you the same day.

First let’s get to what you really want to know.
These ranges are meant to give you an idea of what tax preparation and e-filing will likely cost. Every return is different, so there are exceptions to these ranges. See additional pricing detail here.
Once you send me all your documents and details of any special circumstances, I’ll give you a quote beforehand so there are no surprises.

*“Federal” mainly refers to form 1040.
Note: Repeat clients should not expect to see much deviation from prior year.
While I love working virtually, it doesn’t seem to create the same urgency as a one-hour face-to-face meeting. That sometimes creates a situation of emailing back and forth unnecessarily, which I’m happy to do but also have to charge for if it’s excessive.

Documents I need
Send me everything at once. Make sure you’ve received all your W2s, 1099s, and other tax forms before sending along.
New clients – Complete my client organizer. If you have spreadsheets, files, or forms that give me the information requested in the organizer, feel free to skip those particular sections. But if you’re not sure, play it safe, and fill out the organizer. Just leave blank anything that doesn’t apply.
Repeat clients – Unless something about your circumstances has changed significantly, we should be fine with whatever documents you sent me last year.
How to send documents
I generally accept whatever method of delivery you are comfortable with. Most people simply scan and email me their documents to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are concerned about the risk of sending sensitive information, email me at email@example.com. ProtonMail is a secure email service with built-in end-to-end encryption and state of the art security features.
You can also share a Google Drive or Dropbox folder. If you want to use the ever-reliable United States Postal Service, let me know, and I’ll send you an address.
